Yes, your Artemide lamp can be repaired, and you don't have to live in Los Angeles to get it done. Light Bulbs and More is a Certified Artemide Repair Center, certified by Artemide to repair its designer lamps. We specialize in the iconic Tizio and Tolomeo, and customers ship their lamps to us from across the country.
Artemide lamps are designed and built with precision, and they deserve repair work to match. Here's what we fix, and how to send your lamp to us.
Why use a certified Artemide repair shop?
The Tizio and Tolomeo look simple, but both depend on careful engineering: precise balance, specific components, and tight tolerances. A general repair can leave a lamp that drifts, sags, or doesn't light reliably. As a Certified Artemide Repair Center, we know how these lamps are built and how to restore them properly, so they work the way their designers intended.
Common Artemide Tizio problems we repair
Richard Sapper's Tizio is a counterbalanced lamp that carries low-voltage power through its arms. Common problems we see include:
- The lamp won't turn on, or turns on only some of the time
- Flickering, or light that cuts out when the arms are moved
- A worn or unreliable switch
- Transformer or power supply problems in the base
- Bulb holder and contact problems at the head
- Arms that no longer balance or hold their position
Common Artemide Tolomeo problems we repair
The Tolomeo's spring-and-cable balanced arm should stay exactly where you set it. Common problems we see include:
- An arm that sags, drifts, or won't stay in position
- Loose or stiff joints
- A worn switch, or a socket that no longer holds the bulb securely
- Flickering or intermittent power from worn wiring
We also repair other Artemide models. If your lamp isn't listed here, contact us and tell us what you have.
How to ship your Artemide lamp to us for repair
- Contact us first. Call (310) 826-0603 or email Lbm.info@yahoo.com with your lamp model and a short description or photos of the problem. We'll confirm we can help and send you shipping instructions.
- Pack it carefully and ship it to us. Use the original box if you have it, remove the bulb, and pad the arms and head so they can't move in transit.
- We inspect and quote. We examine your lamp and send you an estimate before any work begins.
- We repair, test and ship it back. Once the repair is done and tested, we ship your lamp back to you, covered by our 1-year parts and labor warranty.
In West Los Angeles? You're welcome to bring your Artemide lamp into our shop on Santa Monica Blvd instead.
Is it worth repairing an Artemide lamp?
Almost always. The Tizio and Tolomeo are design icons built to last for decades, and most problems come down to a single worn part or an adjustment. Repairing your lamp keeps an original piece in use, usually for far less than replacing it. For more on how we help customers decide, read Is My Lamp Worth Repairing or Should I Buy a New One?
Is it safe to keep using a lamp that flickers or cuts out?
If your lamp flickers, cuts out when you move it, buzzes, or feels unusually hot, unplug it and stop using it until it's checked. Intermittent power can mean a failing component. Our guide Why Does My Lamp Flicker? explains the common causes.
